Daytona Race Recap — NASTRACK Season Opener
2/10/20261 min read

he 2026 NASTRACK season kicked off under the lights at Daytona with strong speed right out of the gate from the team.
Steven Burnett rolled off 4th and immediately put himself in contention at the front of the field. Working the draft well and staying aggressive on restarts, Burnett led 19 laps during the night and kept the truck inside the lead pack when it mattered most. When the checkered flag flew, he brought home a solid 3rd-place finish to open the season and start the points campaign on the right foot.
Justin Kern started deeper in the field from 12th and steadily worked forward through the middle stages of the race. Late-run issues shuffled him back in the closing laps, but he still managed to recover and finish 11th, salvaging valuable early-season points.
Daytona is always about positioning, patience, and surviving the draft, and the team showed speed capable of winning right out of the trailer. Leading laps in the opener and putting a truck on the podium sets the tone for what looks like a competitive season ahead.
