DARLINGTON, S.C. — Steven Burnett put together one of the most commanding performances of the NASTRACK season Saturday night at Darlington Speedway, leading 66 of 70 laps after starting from the pole and driving to his third victory of the year. From the moment the green flag dropped, the No. 5 machine set the tone. Burnett controlled the race early, managed traffic through multiple long green-flag runs, and never gave challengers a real opportunity to mount a serious charge. It was the kind of performance teams talk about building toward all season. Clean execution, strong pace, and zero wasted laps.
“This was a total team win,” Burnett said after climbing from the truck in Victory Lane. “We unloaded fast, qualified where we needed to, and stayed disciplined all night. Darlington is tough on equipment and tougher on drivers, so to lead that many laps here means a lot.”
Darlington’s reputation as The Track Too Tough to Tame showed itself throughout the field, but Burnett kept the No. 5 steady and precise against the wall lap after lap.
